. some important things to consider_
.the videos shouldn’t be converted to any proprietary format other than the featured free/open ogg theora video format_
.the videos should run on a computer with a free/open operation system installed. many linux distributions are ok for this but not MACs or windows PCs_
.the name of the project, artist and all of the other credits as well as the .copyleft!_ notice should be mentioned on the label or on other info texts_
.the event should be free (not only free as in freedom but also free as in “free beer”:)) for all the visitors. but of course you can make money, just put a .donate?_ box and you can have all the money you will collect_ you don’t have to share any amount of donations with the artist, but if you think that you should, you can share the donations with the artist or any of those credited for the project by contacting .-_-. . you can also donate any amount of this money(or whatever donated) to anybody else or any foundation. just announce where the donations will go with a notice next to .donate?_ box as explained here and that’s it. check out the project .donate?_ by .-_-.
.if this work is a part of an event and if you want to charge the audience for the event, then you can put a .donate?_box again but also you must put .f.REeFUND checks_ next to it, so that those people who has experienced the work as a part the event they paid for, can get back some of the money they paid. the monetary value of a .f.REeFUND check_ can be calculated as the total entrance fee divided by the number of works/experiences at that event. for example, if the regular entrance fee is 10e and there are 10 works/experiences at an event, then the monetary value of one .f.REeFUND check_ is 1e. the audience should declare the .f.REeFUND check_ and their ticket to have it marked so that it cannot be used to get the refund for the second time and can get back1/10 of the fee written on the ticket, which is 1e for this example. check out the project .f.REeFUND check_ by .-_-. .this is important if you want your event listed and announced on this site since this is a part of the conceptual framework of the work_

. the files and setup instructions for screening_
1) .download all of the three files ( with a total size of 2.08GB) below by right clicking each of them. do not click on them because they will start to play if you do so and they are too big for online playback. they are the master files you will use when exhibiting / screening the work_
01.pls the playlist file which will play the two files below back to back for 18 times allowing a continuous screening of slightly more than 24 hours_
pod.ogv the master file for Potemkin Divided (re_potemkin Habib Bolat edit)
rep.ogv the master file for .re_potemkin vs potemkin_ (re_potemkin .-_-. edit)
2) download geexbox, “a free embedded Linux distribution” for a PC, a MacIntel or a Macintosh, whichever your hardware is, from the original geexbox website
3) burn the .iso image file for geexbox you have downloaded on stage 2, to a cd or dvd.
4) booth your computer with the geexbox dvd you have burned, inside. (choose “boot from cd/dvd” from your computer’s bios settings, if geexbox doesn’t boot). the cd/dvd will be ejected when geexbox boots. you can take it out, you won’t need it until the next boot.
5) copy all of the three files you have downloaded on stage 1 to a usb flash disk (or another usb mass storage device) and plug this in on your computer_
6) choose “play” from the first geexbox menu you see and then choose “play file…” from the next menu. you will see the list of hard disk(s), CD/DVD rom(s) and the name of the usb mass storage device you have plugged in from the usb port on stage 5. choose your usb mass storage device and you will see the names of the three files you have downloaded on stage 1 and transferred to a usb mass storage device on stage 5.
7) choose 01.pls and the two videos will start playing on full screen back to back continuously for over 24 hours.
8 ) you can press “esc” button your keyboard and choose “exit” from the menu you will see to turn the system off. you can follow the steps starting with booting the computer when the geexbox cd/dvd in to start the screening again.
